Privacy Policy

Overview
FlixMe ("the App") is a card game to discover and rate movies, developed by Sabino Velasquez. No account is needed: the App works with an anonymous identifier for your device. This policy explains what data we use, why, and how you can delete it.
Data we use
- Anonymous device identifier: a random code the App creates when installed. It does not contain your name, email or phone number.
- What you do on the table: the movies you rate (liked / didn't like), the ones you save to watch, the ones you skip, the cards you were dealt and which deck they came from. We use it to avoid repeating movies and to pick better cards next time.
- Preferences: language, country (to show where to watch each movie and the showtimes in your area), whether you accepted 18+ content, and your genre settings.
- Technical and usage data: app version, device type and basic usage events (for example, opening the App), collected by Google Firebase Analytics on Android, plus crash diagnostics from Google SDKs.
What we don't collect
- We don't ask for your name, email, age or gender, and there is no sign-in.
- We don't access your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- We don't sell your data or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Ads
When a deck runs out, you can watch a Google AdMob ad to refill it; it's optional. On Android, AdMob may use the device advertising ID according to your Google settings. On iOS we only show non-personalized ads and don't ask for tracking permission (we don't use the IDFA). AdMob may infer an approximate location from your IP address. Google Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
- The Movie Database (TMDB) and JustWatch: movie data, posters and where to watch. We don't send them your data.
- OMDb and IMDb: ratings, plots and movie trivia. We don't send them your data.
- Cinema chains: ticket buttons open each cinema's website; what you do there is governed by its own policy.
- Google (Firebase, AdMob): analytics and ads, as described above.
- Google Gemini: we use it to analyze movies and aggregated, anonymous usage statistics; we don't send it data that identifies you.
Where data is stored
Your ratings, watchlist and preferences are stored on our server (DigitalOcean, United States), linked only to the anonymous identifier. We keep them while you use the App; if you uninstall it, the identifier is lost and that data is no longer linked to your device.
Your choices
- In Settings, "Reset" deletes your ratings, watchlist and preferences.
- You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing hi@sabino.cl.
- You can turn off the advertising ID in your phone's settings.
Children
FlixMe is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. 18+ content only appears if you accept it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with an updated date.
