Overview

FlixMe ("the App") is developed by Sabino. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any data related to your use of the App. This policy describes what data we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

FlixMe collects the minimum data needed to deliver personalized movie recommendations.

• Behavioral signals (mini-games): Timing, tap rate, hold duration, and gesture data from the short emotional-state tests (about 10 seconds each). This data is processed to derive a per-session emotional vector; it's retained on our server to improve future recommendations for your account.
• Ratings and watchlist: If you rate or save a movie, that action is stored against your account (or device, if anonymous) and used to personalize future picks.
• Account data (optional): If you create an account, we store your email address to send sign-in codes and sync your preferences across devices. No password is stored — sign-in is magic-link based.
• Device and locale: Language preference and country code (used only to show streaming-platform availability for your region).

What We Don't Collect

• No name, age, gender, or demographic data.
• No precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
• No analytics trackers on user identity beyond a device ID for anonymous sessions.

Data Storage

Account data and interaction history are stored on our secure server (hosted in Chile, sabino.cl infrastructure). Anonymous data lives under a device-scoped ID and is deleted when you uninstall. We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties.

Third-Party Services

• The Movie Database (TMDB): Movie metadata, posters, and streaming availability. See TMDB's privacy policy.
• OMDb: Supplementary plot and rating data.
• Google AdMob (optional rewarded ads): Shown only if you opt to skip the mini-games. AdMob may collect a device identifier for ad personalization. See Google's privacy policy.
• Brevo (email delivery): Used to send magic-code sign-in emails. See Brevo's privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

FlixMe is rated for Teen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hi@sabino.cl. Anonymous device sessions are cleared when you uninstall the App.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes are posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
